Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp grated orange zest
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1/3 red wine
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp hot Asian-style chili sauce
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh ginger
  • 8 large and meaty Halenda's Beef Back Ribs
  • Water or Beef Stock
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • Makes 3 to 4 servings

Directions

  1. Place the first 8 ingredients in a large bowl and whisk to combine.  Add Halenda's Beef Ribs and toss to thoroughly coat.  Cover and marinate in the fridge, turning occasionally, overnight.
  2. Preheat oven to 325 F.  Remove the ribs from the marinade and place - meaty side up, in a single layer in a large, shallow-sided roasting pan.   Reserve the marinade.  Pour enough water or stock to cover the bottom of the pan by 1/8 inch.  Cover the pan with foil and bake the ribs 2 hours.
  3. Place the remaining marinade in a bowl in a pot and bring to a simmer over medium heat.  Simmer a few minutes, until slightly thickened, then remove from heat.
  4. When ribs are cooked remove and uncover.  Increase oven to 400F.  Brush ribs with the simmered marinade and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  5. Bake ribs, uncovered for approx 20 minutes or until nicely glazed.
